First aid ointment with boreal fir

Very versatile, this is our first ointment care.

Boreal fir is traditionally used to promote healing of all minor skin issues such as chapped lips, eczema, psoriasis, cuts, scars, insect bites, sunburns, hemorrhoids, or irritated babies' bums.

It is quite the essential first aid ointment to carry in your handbag ! Made of beeswax, a bio-complex of healing medicinal plants from our garden as well as boreal fir gum harvested from artisanal way with picoué on our woodlot in Gaspésie.

Olea europea (olive oil), *Cera Flava (beeswax), *Symphytum (comfrey root extract), *Althaea (marshmallow root extract), *Calendula (calendula flower extract), *Matricaria recutita (chamomile flower extract), *Plantago major (plantain leaf extract), *Abies balsamea (balsam fir gum and essential oil).

The regenerative elements of comfrey, namely allantoin, tannins and rosmarinic acid, help in fastening the natural renewal of cells and stimulating the growth of new tissues.

Allantoin is a very popular substance in the cosmetics and medical worlds. It is used in many creams to treat a variety of skin disorders as well as cuts and burns.

Allantoin also has a keratinolytic action : it softens the keratin, a tough and inflexible protein of the outer layer of the skin. Allantoin therefore helps the skin in retaining water better. The skin becomes softer and better hydrated. By stimulating the exfoliation of the superficial cell layer, keratinolytics also help in smoothening the skin.

The comfrey extracts we use come from its roots harvested here, in Gaspesie, in our organic gardens, following a biodynamic inspiration.
