Restorative comfrey hand cream

Our comfrey cream takes care of your hands, preserving the hydration and suppleness to your skin.

It thrives on softening ingredients such as oat extracts, cocoa butter and silk protein. It is enriched with complex medicinal plants promoting skin repair such as comfrey and calendula, all of which come straight from our gardens.

When combined, the regenerative substances found in comfrey, such as allantoin, tannins and rosmarinic acid, altogether accelerate natural renewal of cells and stimulate the growth of new tissues.

Allantoin is a very popular substance in both the cosmetics and medical worlds. It is used in many creams to treat a variety of skin disorders as well as cuts and burns.

Allantoin also has a keratinolytic action, which is to say it helps to soften keratin, a tough, inflexible protein of the skin's outer layer. Allantoin helps the skin to retain water better, thus making it softer and more hydrated. By stimulating the exfoliation of the superficial cell layer, keratinolytics also helps in smoothening the skin.

The comfrey extracts we use originate from the roots we harvest in our organic gardens here in Gaspesie, following a biodynamic inspiration.

Rich in polysaccharides (moisturizing sugars), polyphenols (natural antioxidants) and remineralizing trace elements (iodine, iron, magnesium, calcium), algae are known and widely used in cosmetics. They also contain beta-carotenes (natural antioxidants) with complexion lightening effects. Alginates are also present in brown algae (especially Kombu). They have anti-inflammatory properties (at the joints) and give a silky finish to the skin.

Algae is effective in fighting against skin aging. They stimulate blood microcirculation, promote firmness and elasticity of the skin. They promote weight loss. They help maintain hydration and soothe irritated or acne-prone skin.

Our active ingredient is made from seaweed harvested by hand in an eco-responsible manner by Un Océan de Saveurs .

The algae active we use may include: Ulva sp. (sea lettuce) , Saccharina latissima (royal kombu) , Palmaria palmata (dulse).
